Google Doodle
This illustration began as sheets of tissue paper that I covered with painted patterns. I scanned the patterns and digitally cut out leaves and pots to create the collage.

Hope is the Thing
The assignment was to draw a still life with bones. I awoke the next morning with words and images filling my mind: the start to Dickinson's poem "Hope," the rib cage transforming into a twig, and the robin singing. Sometimes imagination can be eerie.

"Hope" is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

Emily Dickinson
